Practical Book for Pathology and Histology Laboratory

The Practical Book for Pathology and Histology Laboratory targets primarily students of Pathology Laboratory Technique programs in universities. The book details the follow-up and staining methods in frequent use in pathology laboratory applications, along with details of the errors that may occur in the follow-up stages, practical solutions for the elimination of such errors, and the procedures to be followed in many different applications.  This book can also serve as a resource for pathology technicians in professional practice. The book provides the routine tissue follow-up procedure, seven different procedures for the preparation of fixative solutions, four different procedures the preparation of decalcification solutions and 10 different procedures for tissue staining, and includes areas for drawing histological tissues and note-taking areas for laboratory application studies. By following the procedure applications, technicians can gain the basic practice knowledge they will need in pathology or histology laboratories.

Tayfun Ceylan graduated from the 5-year combined program of the bachelor’s degree plus non-thesis master’s degree for Biology Teaching in the Ziya Gökalp Faculty of Education of Dicle University in 2012. He completed his master’s studies in the Histology and Embryology Department of the Faculty of Medicine of Erciyes University, and gained the title of “Scientist” in 2017. He is currently continuing his doctorate studies in the Department of Histology and Embryology of the same institution, and is conducting experimental studies on anti-carcinogen and antioxidant drugs. He is a member of the Turkish Histology and Embryology Association. Ceylan has been lecturing theoretical and practical courses in bachelor’s and associate-degree health programs at Cappadocia University since 2015. He chaired the Pathology Laboratory Techniques and Medical Imaging Techniques programs at Cappadocia University. He has served as a member of the organizing committee and as a member of the scientific committee in symposiums held within the university. He has participated in various international and national scientific congresses and symposiums and has received many certificates from various training courses. He is one of the authors of the book Management, Organization and Surgical Practices in the Operating Room published by Kongre Bookstore.

Mehmet Alparslan Ünal – author

Mehmet Alparslan Ünal completed his undergraduate education in the Biology Department of Akdeniz University. He then completed his master’s studies in the Department of Histology and Embryology of the Faculty of Medicine of Erciyes University. In his master’s thesis, he investigated the protective effect of vitamin E and selenium on the genital system. He is continuing his doctorate studies in the Department of Histology and Embryology of the Faculty of Medicine of Erciyes University, and has been lecturing at Cappadocia University since 2014.
